Henry Company is a North American manufacturer of roofing, waterproofing and building envelope products. The brand dates from 1933. Carlisle Companies acquired Henry in 2021, its largest acquisition, and Henry now operates as a brand of Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies.
Products
Henry's range spans several parts of the building envelope:
- Roof coatings: acrylic, aluminium, asphalt and silicone coatings, plus spray polyurethane foam, used mainly to restore and extend the service life of existing low-slope roofs.
- Mastics, cements and sealants for roof repairs, flashings and penetrations.
- Air and vapour barriers: fluid-applied and self-adhered membranes in vapour-permeable and impermeable versions, with matching flashings, primers and sealants. Its products include the Blueskin line.
- Roofing systems: polyiso insulation and single-ply TPO and EPDM membranes.
- Waterproofing for below-grade and plaza applications, waterstops, and housewraps and water-resistive barriers for homes.
Role in the building envelope
Roof coatings are typically applied over existing membranes, metal or modified-bitumen roofs to seal minor defects, add reflectivity and delay full replacement, which is why coatings manufacturers such as Henry are closely tied to the roof maintenance and restoration market. Air barriers, a separate Henry speciality, control air leakage through walls and roof-wall junctions and are addressed in North American energy codes.
Ownership
Under Carlisle, Henry forms a core part of the Weatherproofing Technologies segment, which complements Carlisle's membrane-focused Construction Materials segment. Henry describes itself as a leader in building envelope systems in North America. Its range serves both commercial buildings and homes. Product data sheets are published online.
