Versico Roofing Systems is a North American commercial roofing brand operated as a division of Carlisle Construction Materials, itself a wholly owned subsidiary of Carlisle Companies (NYSE: CSL). Like its sister brand Carlisle SynTec Systems, it uses a mailing address in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Products
Versico offers low-slope roofing systems built around three membrane families:
- EPDM: synthetic rubber sheets, typically adhered, mechanically fastened or ballasted, with taped seams.
- TPO: thermoplastic sheets joined by hot-air welding.
- PVC: thermoplastic sheets, also hot-air welded.
It also markets fleece-backed membranes under the VersiFleece name and a range of specialty products and components, including insulation, coatings and adhesives needed to complete a roof assembly.
Distribution model
Versico sells through roofing distributors to contractors who are authorised to install its systems. Like other single-ply manufacturers, it publishes installation specifications and offers manufacturer system warranties for roofs installed and inspected according to those requirements. Running two parallel brands allows the parent company to serve separate distributor and contractor networks with similar membrane technology.
Context
Single-ply membranes became widespread in North America from the late twentieth century as alternatives to multi-ply built-up and modified-bitumen roofs, because they can be installed with fewer layers and less on-site heating. EPDM, TPO and PVC each have different seaming methods, chemical resistance and reflectivity, and building owners and designers choose among them according to climate, building use and energy-code requirements such as roof reflectance. Both companies' products are typically installed over rigid insulation boards on low-slope decks.
